Since Jesus is the Chosen One and He has chosen us, we have a choice to make. In Joshua's parting words in Joshua 24, he challenged the nation of Israel to choose whom they would serve (see v. 15). Just as Joshua encouraged Israel to choose to serve the Lord, we must remember that we cannot shy away from the challenge of choosing to follow God. This is not only a one-time individual decision for salvation but also a daily decision to continue choosing God. Make this your motto every day: "The LORD our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey" (v. 24).
