Any more, it feels like there are more opinions than there are people. And all of those opinions keep shifting and changing. Honestly, it can be really difficult to keep up.

The shifting views of culture beg the question, “What is truth?”

If you are going to follow Jesus, then you are going to need to anchor your life to truth. This is one of the key factors that makes Christians different than people who are not following Jesus: we submit our lives to live out the truth of scripture. We are not people swayed by opinions; instead we strive to bring our lives into alignment with what the Bible teaches.

And there’s only one way to do that:

Read.

Listen.

Study.

If we are going to follow Jesus, we have to become familiar with the teaching of scripture, and then bring our lives into alignment with what it teaches us. We have to live in response to the truth, not by reacting to culture.
