There's Hope For Todayનમૂનો

Stereotyping and profiling can rob us of enriching relationships. What if Nathanael had turned down Philip’s invitation? What if he had said, “I wouldn’t cross the road to hear someone from Nazareth?” Although Nathanael had some kind of negative history with Nazarenes, he didn’t allow his presupposition to completely close his mind.
I grew up with a stilted view of Russian people. I was raised in the cold war, and thus, was certain that all Russians were cold, inhospitable people. I couldn’t have been more off base. The finest hospitality I have ever enjoyed has been at Russian tables spread by generous and loving Russian hosts (Thank you Yuri). In a world so deeply divided in ethnic strife, we would do well to demonstrate the triumphant power of Christ’s love.
It is the demonstration of love that convinces the world of our authenticity (John 13:35). It is our pointless bickering and strife that convinces the world that we are no different than the rest. Think what Nathanael would have missed if he had given into his irrational prejudice. He would have missed God in flesh reconciling a shattered world through perfect love.
What are you missing for a foolish presupposition?
