Captured & Crowned: 7 Days of Promises for God's Daughters

DAY 6 OF 7

Worry and Fear…Dismissed!

If you’ve ever lived through trauma or loss, you know how easy it is for fear to slip in unnoticed. One peaceful moment can turn into anxious thoughts about what might go wrong next. Worry sneaks in quietly but steals your peace loudly. The truth is—no matter what we’re facing, worry doesn’t change a thing. It only drains the strength we need to live in the moment God has given us.

As a child, I used to sit on my front porch terrified that the world was about to end. I’d stare at the sky, waiting for something terrible to happen. One day it hit me—I couldn’t stop it even if it did. That fear, though childish, planted a seed that followed me into adulthood. I began to battle anxiety and panic attacks, constantly replaying “what if” scenarios in my mind. My body learned to live on high alert, always preparing for the worst. That kind of mental habit can make you a prisoner to fear if left unchecked.

But God doesn’t want us to live that way. Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow has enough trouble of its own. The more we focus on His presence instead of our problems, the smaller fear becomes. When you magnify God, worry loses its grip. Your heart starts to remember that you are safe, seen, and held—right here, right now.

Peace isn’t the absence of trouble; it’s the presence of trust. When fear rises, talk to your Father. Let Him remind you that He’s bigger than anything that tries to shake you. Today, take a deep breath and declare over your life: Worry and fear… dismissed!

Talk to the King | Prayer

Father, sometimes I let fear and worry take over my thoughts. Teach me how to trust You instead of trying to control what I can’t. I give You every anxious thought, every hidden fear, and every “what if.” Be my protector and my peace. Help me forgive those who didn’t keep me safe and rest in the truth that You always will. Amen.

Scripture Reflection

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” — Matthew 6:34 (NIV)

Worry is a thief that steals today’s peace by borrowing trouble from tomorrow. Let your faith remind you: God’s already there.

Daily Affirmation

I release worry and choose peace. God’s love surrounds me, His presence steadies me, and His promises silence every fear.
