Welcome to our 12 Days of Christmas Devotional: Discovering the Real Jesus. I believe your life will be changed forever as we discover more intimately who Jesus is and learn about God’s grace, power, and love through His Son! We’d love to have you along for this journey as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of our Savior’s Birth.

In this series, we read and reflect on 14 names of Jesus – various titles he is given, and ways he his described. See from both Old Testament prophecy, and the Gospel accounts of his life, just who Jesus is through his names. Be encouraged as we approach the celebration of Jesus’ birth by reflecting on who he is – the marvellous complexity and depth of Jesus’ purpose and his character.

Throughout the Old Testament we can see signposts that point us to Jesus Christ. The book of Isaiah offers numerous such signposts. Reading Isaiah through the eyes of the New Testament can give us new insights into the life of Jesus, and also to the life of discipleship to which we are called.

The story of Christmas stretches from Genesis to Revelation; from cover to cover. In this 25-day advent devotional, you’ll discover the Christmas story from one end of the Bible to the other.

Many of us will not travel to every corner of the world except through stories. Stories transport us into countries, communities, churches, and homes we may never visit. In this global Advent, you are invited into the stories of children around the world who have experienced God with them. In their stories, you will see how Christ's hope, peace, joy, and love are still vibrantly expressed in our world.

It’s our hope and prayer that knowing more about these Christmas songs will increase your appreciation of their lyrics and, more importantly, deepen your love for our Savior this Christmas.

With twenty-five entries, if you start on December 1, you’ll end this devotional on Christmas Day. Once you’ve read a day together with your children, discuss the main topic. See if your children know these songs, or the stories behind the songs, or the reason we sing these songs.
