Loved First

DAY 2 OF 5

Lesson 2 — Loved When You Feel Unlovable

Shame has a way of telling us that God loves a “better” version of us—someone cleaner, stronger, more faithful, or more put together than we are today. But Scripture speaks a different word.

In this lesson, we’re invited to “see how very much our Father loves us” and to receive the truth that God doesn’t love a future version of you. He calls you His child right now—tired, imperfect, and still healing.

Using the powerful metaphor of family, we discover that God’s love isn’t fragile or conditional. Like a loving parent, He knows every part of our story—the good, the messy, and the wounded, and still chooses us.

This day reminds us that even when our past is visible and our scars feel close to the surface, they don’t disqualify us from belonging. We are already God’s children, and one day, He promises to make all things new.

You don’t have to hide to be loved. You are already chosen.

What You’ll Reflect On

  • The parts of yourself you feel tempted to hide from God or others
  • How shame shapes the way you see your identity and worth
  • What it means to live as God’s child, not as a project to be fixed

Simple Practice

Write down one thing you believe disqualifies you from God’s love. Then cross it out. Literally.

About this Plan

Loved First

A 5-day Bible study for anyone who feels tired of trying to earn love, approval, or worth. This isn’t about how to love God better. It’s about discovering how deeply God already loves you. In a world shaped by pressure, comparison, loneliness, and self-doubt, Loved First walks through Scripture to remind you of one unshakable truth: you don’t strive for love—you live from it. Each day includes a short video and simple reflection designed to meet you where you are, whether you feel close to God or far from Him, and ready to begin again today now.
