You Are God’s Light!

DAY 5 OF 7

“Your light does not go unnoticed!”

“I don’t experience anything with God when I’m out and about. God doesn’t seem to work through everyone.”

Maybe you can relate to this woman’s comment. You try to shine, just like it says in Isaiah—“Arise, shine…” (Isaiah 60:1 ESV ), but somehow it doesn’t seem to have the same impact for you.

Let me reassure and encourage you! The Bible doesn’t say: Rise and shine, and you’ll experience the greatest miracle every time.

No.

To put it in the context of my “beach story”: A man came directly up to my parents and me on the beach and sat down with us. It became an intense conversation because he’s a self-proclaimed atheist.

We gave it our all, but it left him unmoved. He always found other explanations for the miracles we shared with him. It felt like that encounter went nowhere

It felt that way. But what does it say in Proverbs? “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5 NLT ). My own understanding in that moment said, “That was pointless.” My trust in the Lord said “...Nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT )

We won’t always immediately see the impact of our light. But only if we act will others have the chance to see Him through us! And that’s what God asks of us: “Arise, shine…” (Isaiah 60:1 ESV).

What God chooses to do—and when—is up to Him. And here we must trust that He will act.

Do what you can, and let God do what He will!

And don’t let yourself get discouraged if your light doesn’t make a difference right away, because:

“NOTHING you do for the Lord is ever useless!” (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT )

Your light does not go unnoticed or dim—so don’t let disappointments keep you from Him!💡

You are a miracle!
