An Exercise in Faith

DAY 1 OF 3

A Faith That Works

Faith is not passive—it demands effort, endurance, and intentional action. True faith is evidenced through works, not as a means of salvation but as proof of it. The Christian life is likened to a race that requires perseverance and discipline. Hebrews 12 calls believers to “run with endurance,” setting aside distractions and sin. This race is grounded in two things: the “cloud of witnesses” who inspire us by their example, and Christ, who perfects our faith. Faith, then, is a lived commitment—active, tested, and continually strengthened through obedience and trust.

Questions to Consider:

  1. What does it mean for faith to require work in your daily life?
  2. What weights or sins might be slowing your spiritual race?
  3. How do the examples of faith in Scripture encourage you to endure?
