RESTNäide

First Day
Rest is something that way too many people in our culture are not familiar with. In the 21st century, rest is deemed for the weak or for the lazy; and yet, from the beginning of time, God created the Sabbath: a day of rest for His people. He did this because He knew we would need rest, but so often we find excuses and reasons as to why we cannot rest, or unknowingly lie to ourselves and others by saying we don’t need it.
In Jesus Christ, we are not bound to the Law and forced to take a Sabbath day by any means (see Colossians 2:16-17). This reality is not an excuse to forsake the meeting of God's people—it is absolutely necessary and Biblical that you go to church every week (see Hebrews 10:24-25). Since Jesus fulfilled the Law and Prophets, we are now under the New Covenant of God’s grace (see Matthew 5:17). However, the Law, being that it’s part of God’s Perfect Word, is still able to teach, correct, train, and rebuke us in every aspect of our lives (see 2 Timothy 3:16-17); in this case, God’s Word is rebuking your lack of rest, and is teaching, correcting, and training you how to properly do so and find peace in His Presence.
