The God of Times and SeasonsNäide

Seasons move in cycles. They return again and again in a steady, predictable rhythm. Just as weather patterns repeat, the seasons of life also recur. The fact that you have passed through a particular season once does not mean you will never encounter it again. Our responsibility is not to fear these cycles but, just like the sons of Isaachar, we are to recognise the patterns and maximize the opportunities each season brings.

In our Christian walk, we will encounter three major seasons:

1. The Egypt Season of life
2. The Wilderness Season of life
3. The Canaan Season of life

These seasons mirror the experiences of the Israelites from slavery, through their journey in the wilderness, and finally to their inheritance in the Promised Land.

Today, we focus on the Egypt season, the season of affliction.

The Egypt season is marked by pain, suffering, and oppression. It is the season where your good works are forgotten and the people you once helped turn their backs on you. Just as a new Pharaoh arose in Egypt who “knew not Joseph,” you may find yourself dealing with people who have no regard for your past contributions or sacrifices. This is the season where jealousy rises, resistance intensifies, and every step forward seems fiercely opposed.

But how should God’s children respond in such a season? The answer is surprisingly simple: cry out to God. When the Israelites’ affliction grew heavier, Scripture says they “cried out,” and their cry reached God. In response, He raised a deliverer, Moses, and began a chain of miracles that no one could have predicted.

Your Egypt season is not the end of your story. It is a setup for divine intervention. When you cry out to God in your pain, He hears. When you ask for deliverance, He moves. And when you lay your burden before Him, He sends help in ways that only He can orchestrate. He has a Moses prepared for your rescue, and your deliverance is already in motion.
