Maximizing God’s Grace

DAY 2 OF 3

Growing in Grace

Grace is a gift, but it also grows. God gives grace freely, yet we must learn to receive and increase in it. The apostle John reminds us that “from His fullness we have all received grace upon grace” (John 1:16).

We access grace through faith (Romans 5:2). Faith is the doorway through which grace flows into our lives. But growth in grace happens as we deepen our relationship with God. Peter writes, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God” (2 Peter 1:2, KJV); and "Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18, KJV). Intimacy with God enlarges your capacity for grace. And the knowledge of God that comes through the study of His word and prayers causes divine ability to increase in us.

We also grow by walking in truth and obedience. Grace is not a license to sin—it’s the power to live rightly. The more we yield to God’s truth, the more His grace works in us. Another helper of the flow of grace is the revelation of righteousness (Romans 5:17). We stand confidently before God, free from guilt or fear and steward His grace with authority, through the consciousness of righteousness in Him.

Grace is a divine supply; it increases as we stay connected to its source, Jesus Christ.

Bible Reading: John 1:16–17; Romans 5:2, 17; 2 Peter 3:18
