Faith Like a Mustard Seed

DAY 3 OF 5

Faith Like a Mustard Seed

What did Jesus mean when He spoke about faith as a mustard seed in Matthew 17:20?

Yesterday, we learned it’s not about having a tiny bit of faith to see the supernatural.

A mustard seed is factually very small, but it has tremendous potential. It knows its identity. It knows its DNA is designed to grow from a tiny seed into a large tree where birds rest and people find shade.

So it’s not about small faith—but a faith that, like a mustard seed, confidently grows, follows its purpose, and does not focus on appearing small in nature. This is Kingdom faith!

Jesus says right after mentioning the mustard seed:

“Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NKJV)

When you have faith like a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible.

In other words, you believe something will become reality even when it seems impossible. You know the potential of faith. You know what God can do: everything! Someone with mustard-seed faith doesn’t doubt that. Your faith may start small, but it is designed to grow mightily as you know your identity and trust God.

Reflection:

Do you see yourself as a mustard seed destined by God to grow large? Do you trust the power God placed in you?

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for planting faith in me like a mustard seed. Teach me to embrace my identity and potential in You. Help me grow in faith so I can move mountains and bear fruit for Your glory. Amen.
