Persistence: 6 Winning Strategies for SuccessNäide

Identifying Defining Moments: When God Gets Your Attention
Every great story has that one scene that changes everything, the turning point. In our lives, God loves to write those kinds of moments too! Isaiah had his when he saw the Lord “high and lifted up” (Isaiah 6:1). Can you imagine that? One moment he’s just showing up for another day at the temple, and the next- boom! - God’s glory fills the place. That encounter redefined Isaiah’s purpose, his confidence, and his calling. Defining moments with God remind us that our ordinary routines are just waiting to be interrupted by the extraordinary. You never know when a glimpse of His presence will change the entire direction of your story.
Then there’s Moses and that famous burning bush. Talk about a holy attention-grabber! God didn’t choose a palace, a throne, or a mountaintop. He showed up in a bush that refused to burn out. That moment wasn’t about fire; it was about focus. When Moses turned aside to pay attention, then God spoke. Sometimes your defining moment begins when you slow down long enough to notice God showing up in unexpected places, through a conversation, a setback, a sunrise, or even a stubborn little bush that just won’t quit glowing.
And let’s not forget Deborah, that powerhouse leader who rose up with courage and wisdom to guide her people. Her defining moment came when she decided to act on what God placed in her heart. She didn’t wait for permission or ideal conditions, she led boldly, with faith as her battle plan. Your defining moment might be waiting on the other side of your obedience too. When you see the Lord high and lifted up, when you turn aside to listen, and when you lead with courage, you step into your divine destiny. God is still creating defining moments. He’s just waiting for you to say, “Here I am, Lord. Let’s do this.”
