The Sexually Healthy ChurchNäide

- The Call to a Sexually Healthy Church
The church has often ignored or mishandled the topic of sexuality, yet the tide is beginning to turn in favor of discussing this subject in a healthy and God-centered way. A sexually healthy church embraces a biblical understanding of sex, equips believers with tools to resist temptation, helps couples protect and strengthen their marriages, and provides safe spaces for those healing from abuse, addiction, infidelity, and trauma.
Every generation of the church must face the topic of sexual health if we are to experience true revival. God desires to pour out His Spirit on all flesh, just as He promised in Joel 2:28, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people.” (NIV), but sexual brokenness, both at the individual and corporate level, can block us from fulfilling our calling to bring healing, deliverance, and salvation to the world.
My own journey began in brokenness—conceived in adultery, abandoned, addicted to pornography and substances at a young age. After being radically saved, I was freed from many addictions, yet the battle for sexual purity remained. Through accountability and the power of God, I found freedom and have now spent nearly four decades helping others do the same.
I share this because my heart burns to see the Bride of Christ become spotless—whole, healthy, and ready for His return. Sexual healing is not optional for revival; it’s foundational. In the next section, we’ll explore why the church must prioritize sexual health and what radical changes occur when it does.
Reflection Questions:
- Why do you think sexual integrity is so vital for personal and corporate revival?
- How has the church’s silence or shame around sexuality affected you or those you know?
- What step could you take this week to pursue greater sexual and spiritual health?
