The Apostle John gives us the deepest look into the meaning of Christmas: "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us" — John 1:14 NIV. The "Word" is God Himself (John 1:1). This is the great mystery of Jesus’ coming—the eternal, all-powerful God stepping out of heaven and becoming a fragile, dependent human baby. Why? Because salvation required a Redeemer who was both perfectly God (to defeat sin) and perfectly man (to represent humanity). This God is not distant or aloof; He actively chooses to be Emmanuel—God with Us.
