The Carpenter God Entrusted

DAY 3 OF 7

Accepting the Impossible

When God talks to Joseph in his dream, these are not merely words of comfort but an invitation to faith that goes far beyond understanding.

“Do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife” – says the angel. Don’t be afraid of disapproval, misunderstandings, rumors and loss of reputation. Don’t be afraid of something that seems impossible from a human perspective.

Joseph did not get all the answers but received God’s word, and that turned out to be more than enough. Faith does not always understand everything beforehand; sometimes it simply accepts. God often opens the way at the moment when we dare to take a step.

Accepting the impossible means letting God within your own boundaries. Joseph trusted God and accepted Mary. His “yes” was a silent but decisive act of faith through which God came into this world.

Perhaps, having woken up after the dream, Joseph took his time just sitting in his workshop. There, amidst a scent of wood, he struggled with his doubts, considering the heard from the angel and trying to put his thoughts together. The hammer lay aside, his hands unmoving but his heart was at work. And in this silence, perhaps, for the first time, he truly understood – faith is also an art that is formed in the hands of God.

Quiet questions in the workshop:

• What seems to me totally impossible today?
• Am I ready to trust God even when I see no way out?
• Am I afraid that God might do something more than I expected?

Prayer:

Lord, when I face the impossible, please, remind me that You are God for Whom nothing is impossible. Teach me to trust You, the way Joseph did, even when my mind cannot comprehend. Amen.

About this Plan

The Carpenter God Entrusted

Christmas is more than just a story about a child born in a manger. It’s also a story about a man who, in silence, trusted God even though everything around him was screaming that it was impossible. Joseph, a simple carpenter from Nazareth, became a man to whom God entrusted the most precious – His Son.
