PSALM 50
GOD HIMSELF IS JUDGE
Asaph writes of God’s ultimate judgment, acknowledging Him as the ruler and authority over all things. Because God is the creator and sustainer of all things, God does not depend on cows and sheep as animal sacrifices. Instead, God wants our hearts, attention, and praise above all else. This verse reiterates 1 Samuel 15:22, where Samuel states that God delights in obedience more than burnt offerings.
Psalm 50:6 ESV - "The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge!"
