Joy RulesNäide

Do you know any Jesus followers who are clearly the real deal? You might identify them by observing their words and actions that point toward Jesus. Or perhaps they regularly make themselves available to be used by him. Paul holds up a man named Timothy as this kind of person.
Think ahead to the tasks, places and people you’ll encounter today. What would it practically look like to prioritize the way of Jesus above all else in your day? Make a list of some ways you can prioritize Jesus ahead of all else today.
Take a moment to pray and offer your day to Jesus as an offering. Ask him to help you be less self-interested and more available to him.
Practice: Consider scheduling a meal with a good friend from church or someone who follows Jesus. Use that time to encourage each other and share about what God has been doing in your lives.

About this Plan

Though he was captive in prison, Paul was captivated by Jesus. That makes him the perfect mentor for any of us who yearn to live with joy and contentment in spite of our troubles. During the Joy Rules reading plan, we'll trek through Paul's writings in the book of Philippians in search of the always-present, ever-accessible joy Jesus offers.
