30 Days of Praying for Children and FamiliesNäide

Throughout scripture, we see that justice is a characteristic of God, hand in hand with his righteousness.
God is deeply relational. And so is his justice. It’s all about restoring broken relationships – between him and his people, and amongst people too.
God hears the groans of His people in Egypt. And he isn’t content to sit back and allow them to stay enslaved. He rescues them.
Now that they have been delivered from slavery, he gives them a new command: to live as a holy people. God’s calling to the Israelites is the same as for us: to love God (Deuteronomy 6:5) and to love their neighbour as themselves. (Leviticus 19:18)
Perhaps today you need to dwell on the truth that God hears our cries and has redeemed us. That he has made us his people, and he is our God.
How might God be calling you to live justly?
Prayer
God of justice,
You call your people to take up the cause of the vulnerable.
I pray now for my church – that, as your people in this place, we would be a welcoming and supportive community for children facing injustice and for those who care for them.
