When Trust Becomes TestimonyNäide

Trusting Him with Your Cares
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7, NIV)
Life comes at us quickly and relentlessly. We do not go through it unscathed, and there are so many things that make us worry. How will I make next month’s bills? Will I find another job? I’d love to get married; is there someone out there for me? What will the test results show?
Worries take up too much of our time and energy. We’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and anxious. We think it’s up to us to get through and fight our way out of our fears. But that’s not what God calls us to. He is gentle, and He is strong for us. We aren’t meant to hold the burden; we were meant to give it to Him. As we trust God with what weighs us down, we experience more of His care, tenderness, and guidance. He wants us to bring the hard and scary things to Him, and He doesn’t let anything go to waste.
This includes struggle and strain. When we cast our cares on Him, we trust that He will do with them what needs to be done. We trust that He will see us through and see to it that we have peace in surrendering these struggles to Him. Let’s give Him what scares and worries us, and allow Him to care.
The truth for today is: We can cast our cares on God. He is for our good.
Prayer:
Lord, You are more tender to me than I know. So much burdens me, but I give it all to You. You are good, and You can carry my cares. Thank You for the way you see me. Amen.
Reflection Question:
What burden can you release to God today?
