DAY 11 — Immovable in God’s Love

Paul’s number one priority for believers was that we would be rooted and grounded in love. But he knew something: we don’t have the strength on our own to fully receive it. Only a stronger you—strengthened by God—can grasp the immensity of His love.

And this love isn’t theoretical. It’s not just something we know in our heads—it’s something we must experience.

Paul experienced it so deeply that it became his foundation. When he told the Ephesians to “stand firm after you have done everything” (Ephesians 6:13 NIV) he wasn’t talking about raw courage or willpower. He stood because he knew God’s love surrounded him from every direction—length, width, height, depth—like a divine firewall. Nothing could get through.

That’s why he could say in Acts 20 that he was heading to Jerusalem knowing imprisonment and suffering awaited him, but “none of these things move me,” (Acts 20:24 KJV). How could he remain unshaken? Because he had experienced what Scripture declared. Paul became so closely acquainted with this love, he could testify to the Romans that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39).

Once you are rooted in God’s love, nothing else has the power to move you.

Paul wasn’t anchored by positive thinking or natural grit. He was anchored by the overwhelming, personal, never-ending love of God. And that’s what he wanted for us, too—that we would not just know about God’s love, but stand immovably rooted in it.

Because when you live from that place, life can shake, storms can come, suffering can hit—but you will not be moved. His love is the foundation that satisfies.
