Advent Meditation: LoveNäide

Day 3: Repeat It
Just as we’ve read the passage out loud and handwritten it, we want to try to repeat the verse multiple times to memorize it. You can do this by reading the verses out loud and slowly trying to look less at the words and reciting more from memory. If helpful, sing the song while you’re repeating it. Consider revisiting the first letter technique for additional assistance as well. As you do this work of repetition, the words will come more naturally to your mind as you seek to recall the verses. If you have enough time, try repeating the Scriptures you’re memorizing five to ten times! You’re on your way to meditation. Consider repeating the passage in the transitional moments of your day instead of checking your email or looking at social media.
Remember to light the Advent candles and sing or listen along to the passage as you’re able. God is love.

About this Plan

This year, we want to offer you a fresh way to walk through Advent—by engaging Scripture together. We’ve created four simple plans, each one centered on a different passage that reflects the four themes of Advent: hope, peace, joy, love. Each plan lasts four days, giving you space to linger slowly with God in His Word. You can move through all four plans over the season, or simply choose the ones that meet you where you are right now. Accompanying each plan is a word-for-word Scripture song written by a Verses artist as a melodic anchor.
