DAY TWENTY-SIX - A Posture of Holiness
The Tabernacle was now complete with God’s presence, but the Israelites couldn’t come near it on their own. The Lord set up a process of consecration for those who approached his presence — starting with commissioning Aaron as the high priest. While Leviticus 8 describes a complex system of physical checks and processes, this passage highlights the importance of stopping to reflect before entering into God’s presence.
Through Jesus, we are now able to be in God’s presence freely, but his glory and honor still demand the spirit of reverence like the one that Moses instructed the Israelites to follow. The process of sanctification demands that we continually examine our hearts before the Lord in worship.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- What does approaching God’s presence in your spiritual life look like?
- How might you practice a posture of holiness when entering into God’s presence?
- How does the Holy Spirit aid in consecrating yourself before the Lord?

About this Plan

THE PROMISED LAND and Milk and Honey Productions have created this plan to help individuals and groups engage the story of Exodus and Leviticus in a fresh way. In this 30-day devotional, you’ll see clips from THE PROMISED LAND, read passages of Scripture, and reflect on questions that connect Israel’s journey to your own walk of faith. Through humor, reverence, and honesty, we’ll discover that God uses ordinary, imperfect people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.
