Nehemiah 8:10—“And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” AMEN

I want you to say this out loud wherever you are: “THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH.”

Christ is our sustainer. He is our everything.

This world tries to convince us that we can be satisfied with temporary pleasures. But nothing brings joy like Jesus. We can experience momentary happiness, but with the Lord we can experience fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11 says, ” You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. ” True life, joy, freedom, and abundance are found in Jesus.

When we walk through life trying to find joy in this world, we will be let down. But when we find our joy in the Lord, the world can’t take that away from us. The world can’t give true joy, which means it can’t take it away. We get to decide how we respond to the situations we walk through in our lives. Even on the hardest days when we are walking through the toughest trials, we can remember that our joy and peace and life are found in the one seated on the throne, and as long as we have Him, we have access to fullness of joy.

Whether we are high on life or we seem to be in the deepest depths, the joy of the Lord is our greatest strength and a true gift from the Father.

John 15:11—“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full."

Reflection:

When we go to Jesus, we can experience fullness of joy. Are you trying to find joy in other things before God? How can you better go to Jesus and live a life of joy even when circumstances are hard?
