Prayers for Peace of Mind: Help for Anxiety, Worry, or StressNäide

When Uncertainty Surrounds
It's easy to look at what's happening in our world today and feel overwhelmed. God understands this, and he meets us in the middle of our worry and stress. We don't have to be paralyzed by fear because he promises to give us what we need in every circumstance.
One of the biggest signs of anxiety is endless questioning. What if? How will this work out? Can I do this? We think our questions have to go away or be fully answered before God can use us or we can move forward.
But the story of Gideon in the Old Testament shows us God can handle our questions. When we find ourselves in a place of fear like Gideon, we can bring God our concerns, hurts, and worries, and the ways we wish things were different. He’s a safe place for all our emotions and uncertainty.
He says to us, as He did to Gideon, “Go with the strength you have” (Judges 6:14 NLT). Why? Because the strength we have is His strength.
We may always question what’s going on around us, but we can also always trust the One who lives within us.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, there is so much I don’t understand. When I want to hide and uncertainty surrounds me, give me the strength and courage to do what You are asking of me anyway. I choose to trust You. Amen.
TRUTH TO REMEMBER TODAY
Go in the strength you have…and God will be the strength you need.
