Yom Kippur - the Perfect Atonement: The Messiah's SacrificeNäide

The Perfect Sacrifice
The Bible shows us that the ritual of Yom Kippur was only a shadow, a figure of the reality that was to come. The Messiah, Jesus, is the perfect fulfillment of the Feast of Atonement. He is not only our Eternal High Priest, but He also offered Himself as the sole and definitive sacrifice through the cross, for the justification of all our sins through His own blood.
The sacrifice of the goats and the bull was imperfect and had to be repeated annually. The author of Hebrews tells us that "it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins." However, the blood of Jesus, the Messiah, is not just a sacrifice, but the perfection of sacrifice, which purifies us forever from all our injustice so that we may approach and serve the living God.
Personal Application: Trust in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus. You are free from the need for rituals or to repeat atonement. The blood of the Messiah is sufficient. Receive your redemption from Him.
Call to Intercession: Pray that the Jewish people, who know the history and meaning of Yom Kippur, will have their spiritual eyes opened to see that Jesus is the Perfect Sacrifice, the Lamb who was slain and who, with His blood, sealed our redemption forever.
