Seek the Lord and His Strength
“Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually!” — 1 Chronicles 16:11 AMPC
When we feel weak, we often seek strength in the wrong places—through distractions, self-reliance, or even the encouragement of others. But true strength is found in seeking the Lord Himself.
The call here is not only to seek His strength but to seek His face continually. That means we are pursuing relationship, not just resources. We’re not simply asking God for help; we’re asking for Him. And when we have Him, we have all we need.
This changes how we live. Instead of rushing to our own solutions first, we pause and seek the Lord. Instead of only talking to friends, we pour out our hearts to Him. Instead of waiting until we are at the end of ourselves, we choose to be in His presence continually.
Seeking His face continually doesn’t mean striving—it means returning. Over and over, we come back to Him. And every time we do, He strengthens us again.
Reflection Question:
What is one practical change you’ll make this week to seek God’s face first before seeking solutions elsewhere?
