House of David, Season 2: Trusting God in the Middle of the StoryNäide

Sometimes To Be Anointed Is to Be Alone
When Samuel anointed David, the Spirit of God rushed upon him. You’d think that meant instant elevation. Instead, David found himself back in the fields: alone with sheep, alone with songs, alone with God.
Anointing doesn’t always catapult you into crowds. More often, it drives you into solitude. Jesus Himself, freshly baptized and Spirit-filled, withdrew to lonely places to pray. Why? Because anointing is cultivated in secret before it is revealed in public.
“To be anointed is to be alone.” Not forever, but for formation. Alone is where pride is stripped, motives are purified, faith is deepened. Alone is where God teaches you to hear His voice before you’re trusted with His platform.
Don’t despise obscurity. Oil drips in hidden places before it pours in high places.
Reflection Question: Could the hiddenness you feel now be the very place God is forming your anointing?
