Steady in Every SeasonNäide

Shifting Seasons
The weather goes through seasonal shifts, and so do we. Our lives change as time goes by, just as winter transforms into spring and summer gives way to fall. We do not live in perpetual winter. Cold, dark, and hopeless nights won’t last forever. Conversely, we don’t get to experience endless summer days. Flowers won’t bloom eternally, and the sky won’t always be blue. Change is inevitable, and nothing lasts forever.
It’s normal to feel discouraged when our circumstances feel winter-like. It makes sense to feel dreary when life is dark or cold. It’s important to remember that God is at work even in those seasons. He doesn’t slumber or sleep. He doesn’t leave us alone to navigate the winters of our souls. When trials come, we do not face them alone. He is with us through every season.
When the sun is shining and everything seems right, let’s remember to give him the praise he is due. Let’s lift up his name and approach him with gratitude. Let’s remember that every good gift is from his hands, and he is the one who sustains us. Just as despair through winter can cause damage, so can pride through seasons of summer. Each season, whether challenging or joyous, is an opportunity to glorify the Lord. He is sovereign, and we can rest knowing that our lives are in his hands.
God knows exactly what you need and when you need it. When trials arise, don’t despair. God will faithfully lead you through it. There may even be blessings on the other side. Remember that he knows each season you will walk through. He controls the coming and going of spring or winter, and he controls the shifting seasons of your life. He is sovereign, and he is trustworthy.
