Have you ever done something to serve just one person, only to find your actions made an impact on many more? Maybe you donated some money to a woman in need, and in doing so, you served her entire family, too. Maybe you gave a little time to tutor someone in math, and they ended up tutoring others. Through the student you tutored, your work eventually helped the entire class! Or maybe you gave some clothing to a local charity where multiple people used what you donated. That’s one of the coolest things about generosity! Its reach is so much bigger than we may even realize. This is exactly the kind of encouragement Paul provided in his letter to the people of Corinth. The people were full of enthusiasm to serve and give to others. And that enthusiasm didn’t just impact the people they were directly helping; those who heard about it were inspired to do the same. That’s the power of open-handed generosity. It can make an impact on those who directly need it, but it can also inspire those who see it in action to do the same.
Just imagine what God might do to multiply your impact if you choose to open your hands and give!

About this Plan

The truth is, no matter who you are, you have something to give in service to others. The problem? Those are often the things we tend to close our hands around the tightest. But what if that wasn’t the way life was meant to be lived? This devotional is going to talk about what an open-handed life really looks like, lived out—because generosity is about so much more than giving something away.
