The Guilt Strip: Time to End the Guilt Trip

DAY 6 OF 7

When you mistake wasabi for chutney 🥵

It’s that dangerously spicy green paste often served with Japanese food—made from Japanese horseradish. Even a tiny bit can make you feel like your head is on fire!

While we were on tour in the US with Yeshua Ministries, one of our band members had never tried it. So, naturally, the other guys told him it was mint chutney and convinced him to take a big bite. 🙈🥵🤪

The poor guy struggled for his life while the rest of us nearly died laughing. Don’t worry, we’re not always that mean, but this was too good a prank to pass up.😂

Looks can be deceiving. Wasabi and chutney may look and feel the same, but their effect are wildly different.

The same is true for conviction and condemnation.

As we continue our journey of getting rid of guilt, it is essential to learn to recognise both conviction (that comes from God) and condemnation (that comes from the devil).

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit as our helper, and He said:

“When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment.” – John 16:8

Conviction involves recognition of wrongdoing; the need for repentance, and, if possible, the desire to offer reparations. When done right, conviction of sins will lead to freedom from guilt.

Condemnation, on the other hand, comes from the devil, whose sole job it is to accuse.

For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. – Revelation 12:10

The purpose of condemnation is always to overload you with accusation, shame, and guilt.

Condemnation pushes you from Christ; conviction pulls you to Him.

Don't fall for the devil’s wasabi disguised as chutney.

Don’t allow the enemy to overload you with guilt and shame through condemnation disguised as conviction any longer!

You have been set free by the precious blood of Christ, and if you set your mind on the Spirit, you will have life and peace.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
