Rooted in the Word: A 5-Day Devotional Journey Based on Colossians 2:6-7Näide

Day 3: The Word Equips
Paul writes, in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV), that all Scripture is “breathed out by God” and is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. This means the Bible is not just for inspiration—it’s for instruction. It doesn't only comfort us; it also sharpens and strengthens us.
Joshua 1:8 (ESV) echoes this idea: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” God’s Word is the equipment for every assignment. We don’t drift into maturity—we grow by feeding on truth and applying it.
Reflection: Which area—teaching, correcting, or training—do you most need in this season?
Activation: Ask God to highlight a practical area where you need His Word to equip you. Is it in relationships, finances, leadership, or character? Find one Scripture related to that area. Write it out, memorize it this week, and pray it daily. Let the Word shape how you walk in that area of your life.
