Jesus Will Make You Righteous

He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness. … and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. … So that you may be… filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. … Offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” … This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. … To the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. … For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! … So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. … But in keeping with his promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
