The Cure for Envy

DAY 5 OF 5

Contentment in Christ

I had to decide to celebrate others’ achievements while being content with what the Lord has entrusted to me in this season. Contentment does not come naturally; it is learned. Paul said he learned to be content in every circumstance, whether in lack or abundance. His secret? Christ’s strength. When we rest in Christ, we no longer need to measure our worth against others.

Contentment frees us. It lifts envy’s weight and teaches us to rejoice in what is, not what isn’t. It teaches us to trust that God knows exactly what we need, when we need it, and that His gifts are always good.

Respond to God’s Word:

Pray Philippians 4:11–13 over your life. Ask Jesus to teach you contentment in every situation and to fill your heart with gratitude for what He has placed in your hands today.

My prayer is that your family isn’t held back by envy or other traps in life. One resource that has helped our family stay rooted in truth is a simple weekly guide we use together.

Each week, we receive a short guide with a Bible verse, a worship song, seven daily conversation questions, and a short prayer to help guide our family time. It’s helped us process tough moments together and stay connected to God’s voice, even when the world makes us feel left out.

Let God’s invitation shape how your family walks through life, with contentment, grace, and hope.

About this Plan

The Cure for Envy

Envy is one of those quiet sins that sneaks into our hearts. It rarely makes headlines, yet it robs us of joy, peace, and love. The Bible calls envy a work of the flesh, one that corrodes relationships and disrupts our fellowship with God. But there is a cure. In Christ, we can learn contentment, discover freedom, and find joy in celebrating others. This 5-day plan will walk you through recognizing envy, exposing its fruit, and finding healing in love and contentment.
