Godly Ambition: Maximize Your Gifts for ChristNäide

YOU ARE NOT CALLED TO SETTLE
If you had told six-year-old me I’d be writing about how to “make it” in life, I would have laughed. I was the refugee kid who was raised by a single mom battling alcoholism and whose dad was barely around. The student who struggled to read. The guy statistically slated for trouble. Praise be to God that he had other plans!
I tell you all this because if I can do it, you can too.
As you move with godly ambition toward your dreams, remember that God invites you to partner with him. Whatever is holding you back, discouraging your heart, or whispering “You’ll never make it” is no match for his will. After all, if God is for you, who can be against you (Romans 8:31)?
In 1 Thessalonians 4:11–12, Paul says that it is not merely our words but also the consistent testimony of our lives that draws others to Christ. The apostle Peter echoes this idea: “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us” (1 Peter 2:12 NIV).
Your gifts are meant to serve others. You have this pent-up energy and desire for greatness—fantastic! Now channel that into serving others where you’re needed most. Would a friend who is starting a business benefit from your skills or knowledge? Do you have a dream that would make your neighborhood a better place? Could you be the hands and feet of Jesus to someone whom you know is struggling? Look for those places God is stirring your heart toward something or someone. Stoke the fire of your ambition.
The goal is not to get rich or become famous but to maximize the gifts, talents, and opportunities God has given you.
I want you to discover the abundant life Jesus promises (John 10:10). As a child of God, you are created to do great things. You are not average, my friend. You are not called to settle.
You are made for godly ambition.
Lord, help me to serve you with godly ambition. When doubt tries to hold me back, remind me that your power is greater than my past, my fears, or my weaknesses. Show me where you want to work through me so that I might serve others with joy. Amen.
