The Biscuit Trail

DAY 7 OF 12

Finding Out Someone's Perception of Jesus

Jesus' disciples knew all the theories people had about who Jesus was. They'd done some preaching, but they'd been listening as well. As they travelled around Israel they must have been paying attention, or Jesus' question 'Who do people say that I am?' would have stumped them.

Does it stump you? Do you know what the people in your school or workplace think about Jesus? Do you know the theories in your city or region? What about the people you spend your time with?

Who do you believe Jesus is? When we see Him for who He really is, we are blessed by God. Jesus is the Messiah, the promised King who will rule the world with justice and mercy, destroying the powers of evil forever. He is the Son of the Living God, eternal, unique, worthy of our worship. Set your eyes on Jesus, see Him for who He is, and be blessed.

Action

Ask someone what they think about Jesus. You could try something like 'You know I am a Christian, but I realise I've never asked you what you think.' Don't get defensive or argumentative if they say something you disagree with; try to find out what their reasons are and where their views have come from.

Prayer

Confess the ways in which you have been too busy to listen, or not cared about other people's perspectives. Ask the Lord to help you be attentive and curious as His love grows in your heart.

Thank God for revealing Jesus to you as your Lord and Saviour and ask Him to continue teaching your heart to delight in Him.

Pray for those who have not recognised Jesus that they would be given eyes to see Him as He really is.

About this Plan

The Biscuit Trail

You wouldn’t force a whole packet of biscuits in someone’s mouth; you would offer them one biscuit at a time. We would like to think the same principle applies when it comes to sharing your faith. This twelve day reading plan (inspired by The Biscuit Trail resource) will help you think through easy steps you can take to help others discover Jesus for the first time.
