Connect With God Through Movement | 7-Day DevotionalNäide

Movement is Worship
Have you ever been to a concert? It’s very common to dance because the music “moves” you, and no one finds an issue with that. Yet some people might call it “weird” to dance for God in a church or worship setting.
According to Scripture, when the Ark of the Covenant came back to the city after it was captured, David danced undignified. Many misunderstood his actions, and even his wife judged him for it. But David didn’t dance because he wanted to perform for anyone. He danced out of the overflow of love and gratitude he had for the Lord.
When you connect with God through Movement, He reveals new facets of Himself. Encountering new facets of God brings a new opportunity to respond in worship and movement. In the story above, David’s movement was a response to the victory God gave them over the Philistines. What will your response be to the facets of God revealed today? Let your movements express your love and gratitude to the Lord.
Prayer
God, You’re the One I move for. Thank You for loving me first. Help me to love You back through the movement of my body! Even if I look silly, crazy, or out of my mind, may I give You the undignified worship You are worthy of. Amen.
Activation
Enter His courts with praise and thanksgiving! Express your gratitude to God through dancing, jumping, and being undignified today.
Even if you’ve never worshiped God this way, move in faith and challenge yourself!
About this Plan

There is only one way to God, and it's through Jesus, but in Jesus, there are many ways to connect with God. One way you can connect with God is through Movement. Movement is when you encounter God as you move your body physically through exercise, dance, walking, or any form of movement. Through this 7-day devotional, our goal is that you would walk away understanding the heart of moving with God and be equipped with the tools to connect with Him in this way.
