No Pressure

DAY 17 OF 20

The book of Zephaniah serves as a reminder that God has always been and will always be deeply involved in our lives. Zephaniah, the prophet, recognized the sin around him. God had told him of the impending judgment against Israel and the surrounding nations. Zephaniah knew that sin demands judgment, but he also knew that God is merciful and eager to forgive, and ultimately, that God’s love for all humanity is incredible!

Did you know that God sees you through the lens of the cross? It doesn’t matter that you aren’t perfect. It doesn’t matter that you may mess up badly at times. What matters is that you have a heart surrendered to God. It’s of utmost importance that you understand entirely that man, on his own, can never be perfect enough to come into God’s presence. Still, when you surrender your heart to God and realize that the blood of Jesus, which He shed on the cross, covers all your messes and my messes, our sin, that is when God spins around in violent emotion, with such joy. This is when God will rejoice over you with singing. A surrendered heart, seeking the presence of God with a passion for Him, brings Him great joy.
