Only Jesus can break the cycle of sin, intercede for us, and bring us out of the wilderness to himself.

Numbers 14:26-38 shows us that even when God's people rebel and disbelieve, his promises are still sure—but disobedience has consequences. This passage confirms the major theme of Numbers: that God is faithful to bring his people into his presence, but only through trust in his appointed leader, which ultimately points to Jesus, the true and better Joshua who leads us into the final Promised Land.
