God’s Strengthening Word: Being Renewed by the Holy SpiritNäide

Introduction
Acts 6:1–15: The number of disciples continues to grow, and seven men are chosen to help with practical and financial tasks so that the twelve apostles can focus on prayer and teaching. Stephen, one of these seven, is falsely accused and arrested.
Today’s Key Verse: Acts 6:15
All those sitting in the Council fixed their eyes on Stephen and saw that his face looked like the face of an angel.
Reflect
What is the source of the quarrel among the believers? How is the matter resolved (verses 1–7)? How are disagreements handled within your community of faith? How is Stephen described (verse 8)? Why do some people oppose him? In what ways do people today encounter opposition because of their faith?
Pray
Almighty God, grant me a spirit of boldness to proclaim the Good News. May the message of your love and grace continue to spread throughout the world. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Acts 7:1–22: Stephen defends himself before the Council.
