Scripture repeatedly tells us not to worry. But someone might say, “That must not apply in my current situation. If I don’t find a job soon, I don’t know what I’ll do...", or “Mom has cancer, and we don’t know if the treatments are working.”

But when God says don’t, He means it. It may feel defeating at times, but it should empower you! He never asks us to do what we can’t do without His help.

The next time you are prone to worry, be very deliberate about choosing thanks. Think of crazy things to be thankful for. Your dining room table! Boxed hair color! Your friend’s knack for gift-giving!
