Memorizing Your BibleNäide

Welcome back!
I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s session. The temptation today might be to memorize the rest
of the psalm all at once. Don’t do it! Stick to one verse per day. This is not about speed.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Psalm 1 teaches us where we should and shouldn’t be. Verse 1 tells us not to
walk, stand, or sit among those who mock God. Notice the progression: first, you walk, then
you stop and stand, and if you’re not careful, you end up sitting among them.
Instead, today’s verse tells us that we should focus on something entirely different:
meditating on God’s Word.
Read Proverbs 1:10-19.
The verse for today is:
Psalm 1:2 – “…but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and
night.”
CHALLENGE OF THE DAY
Here’s the plan for today:
● Recite verse 1 from yesterday. You’ll probably notice it’s getting easier. If not, take a quick look at the text again.
● Now, read the second verse aloud 10 times. Make sure to read carefully so you
don’t miss a single word.
● Then, recite verse 2, 10 times without looking.
Well done!
Tip:
Look for key words or small details in the text that help you remember it. Underline or
highlight them. Do whatever helps you to commit it to memory.
And… write this second verse underneath yesterday’s verse.
Try to recite both verses a few times throughout the day. Maybe while driving or waiting somewhere—those are great moments to practice.
See you tomorrow!
