Acts 13:1-3 | a Long ObedienceNäide

Connect to God by Obeying
We live in a connected world. News is broadcast just moments after an event has happened—and often while it’s still happening. In just a few seconds, a text message travels 22,236 miles (35,785 km) up to an orbiting satellite and 22,236 miles down again to the person receiving it. Oftentimes that person is within shouting distance.
Despite how often we communicate, it can be rare when an actual personal connection happens.
Adam and Eve walked with God and were connected with him in an intimate way. That was until they disobeyed and lessened their connection with their creator. God didn’t walk away. Adam and Eve did, by their disobedience.
The good news is that God isn’t 22,236 miles away. He is standing near us, but disobedience will buffer that connection. What do you need to surrender to God today that might be holding him at arm’s length?
About this Plan

Obedience is not a once-and-done approach to life. It is a daily discipline of choosing God’s way over our way. This 5-day plan continues our journey through the book of Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth, and as they learn to follow him. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play. It’s a story about what God can do through you.
