More Than Just a Story - the Book of JohnNäide

“This is very hard to understand. How can anyone accept this?”

Do you ever feel this way? Even those who were right there, listening to Jesus and walking with Him daily, asked this very question. But Jesus doesn't let them off the hook. Instead, He says, “Human effort accomplishes nothing.” He continued, “… the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But some of you do not believe me.”

In that moment, many of His disciples chose to leave. But twelve stayed. They found His words to be true, The truly found life!

The biggest takeaway for me is what happens next. Peter responds, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.” Sometimes, following Jesus isn’t easy. There will be moments of doubt, confusion, or even frustration. But when we truly trust Him and hold onto His Word—especially when things don’t go the way we hoped—we must remember that His plan is still unfolding. He sees more than we do. His plan is higher than ours. Even when it’s hard, He calls us to keep going forward in faith that He has a plan.
