The Breath of LentNäide

In computer science, "garbage in, garbage out" (GIGO) is the concept that flawed, or nonsense (garbage) input data produces nonsense output. This term can also be related to who we are as people of integrity. Integrity is the state of being whole and undivided, the unobstructed flow of internal consistency to outward consistency. Whatever feeds into our hearts and minds will eventually come out in our words, actions, and reactions.
Today's scripture promises that as Christians, we are filled with "everything we need for a godly life through knowledge of him." That is what is deep within us, and it is our privilege and responsibility to cultivate that knowledge planted within our inmost being by the Holy Spirit. When we position ourselves in a way that nurtures, enriches, and encourages the work of the Spirit, it manifests itself in the beautiful litany of fruit mentioned in the 2 Peter scripture. Look at the list again. Is there any attribute you feel is lacking? It is within you waiting to be activated through your deeper connection with the Word and communion with the Lord. Ask Him for a new infilling and trust that He will unearth this attribute within and through you.
Instead of "garbage in, garbage out," may your rule of life be "purity in, purity out." This is only made possible by the breath prayer for the week:
Inhale: Christ in me
Exhale: The hope of glory.
