How to Have a Quiet Time With GodNäide

Hearing the Father’s Voice
If we are to meet with our Heavenly Father we must learn how to listen to Him.
And while it is true that he sometimes speaks to us through nature, and our circumstances, through dreams, through messages brought by prophetic people, through the wise counsel of Godly Christians, through the inner promptings of the Holy Spirit, and even in exceptionally rare cases through an audible voice, by far the most usual means is through His Word recorded in the Bible.
The Bible is the record of what God has said and done. Time and again it states, "the Lord said …" Jesus Himself treated the words of Scripture as the final authority in all matters. He understood His own Calling and Ministry in terms of what was written in Scripture. He claimed to be speaking the Words of God. And he claimed that His own teaching would outlast Heaven and Earth (Matthew 24:35).
So, all who genuinely want to meet with God will spend time reading Scripture and praying that the Holy Spirit will teach them its Truths.
