The Bible for Young Explorers: JohnNäide

Field Guide to John
- John is the fourth Gospel or biography of Jesus, written around AD 90.
- It is based on the experiences of John, one of Jesus’ closest followers.
- It’s full of amazing miracles and teachings that show who Jesus is.
John was a fisherman when Jesus called him. He got to witness firsthand the amazing life of Jesus. Later, this Gospel was developed to help people like us experience Jesus for ourselves. Jesus made huge claims and performed miracles to back them up: He fed thousands with a few loaves and promised, ‘I am the bread of life.’ He healed a blind man and said, ‘I am the light of the world.’ He raised a dead man and declared, ‘I am the resurrection and the life.’ The Gospel finishes with an invitation to ‘believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God’ (20:31). Now it’s our turn to follow . . .
