Lord,

I’ve bought into the notion that military wives are strong— that they handle on one pinky finger the difficulties of life. That they can do it all and never falter. I’ve believed the lie that every other military wife stands strong, and I must, too. You’ve watched me shoulder the load alone. You know the thoughts that propel me to this that I don’t want to be the only weak-kneed military wife in history. But inside, I’m crumbling. I need You. I can’t do this alone.

Save me from this weight of pride, heavenly Father. Loosen and remove its chain. No doubt, You are my true help. And You cross my path with friends, fellow military wives, sisters and brothers in Christ, and others. Weave within this heart of mine a willingness to ask for and accept help from You and them. Embolden me to link arms not with fear but with the wisdom that comes from Your Holy Spirit.
