The Comeback KidNäide

Have you ever thought about dying for the people you love? I know I have. I've always had the thought in the back of my mind of what it would look like for me to go out as a hero for those I care about the most. Some small part of me kind of wants to be that real-life superhero for someone else. But if I’m honest, every time I’ve constructed one of these random scenarios in my head, it’s only ever for someone I truly care about. The astounding word that Paul, the author of many letters in the New Testament, wrote is that Jesus died for us while we were sinners. That means humankind was living outside of God’s best. Yet God still sent Jesus for us. Jesus went out and offered up His life so that we could have the chance to experience all of who God is. God didn’t have to, but God counted us worthy of dying for. What a powerful love that is!
I know it's easy to take such a great love for granted, but today, think of how deep Jesus’ love for you really is. The next time you find yourself thinking of being the hero for someone, think about how Jesus already did that for you!
