A Year in Luke/ActsNäide

After Jesus calmed the storm and they sailed to the Eastern region of the Gerasenes, Jesus was immediately met by a demon-possessed man on land. This should come as no surprise to us now that we understand the great darkness found in the Eastern region. Jesus engaged with the region of darkness by bringing Light.
Once He healed the man, the man begged Jesus to let him return with Him to the Western side. But Jesus told him to go home and tell the region of darkness about what He had done for him. Looking ahead to when Jesus and the disciples came back to the Decapolis/region of darkness (Mark 7:31), we can see that while there, Jesus fed the four thousand.
Why did four thousand people in a region of great darkness come to meet Jesus? How did they know about Him? The testimony of the demoniac man Jesus healed and directed to stay in the region of darkness was far-reaching.
